yellow tongue: It could be thrush altough the thrush infections I have seen are white in color.
See an oral surgeon asap for an evaluation.

Yes: a white coating on your tongue that can't be scraped off and particularly doesn't respond to antifungals may have several other etiologies, but one of the other really common possibilities is gastroesophageal reflux, which can be significant even if you don't have heartburn.  I would get that checked out, and if not the case, see a dermatologist

Maybe thrush(fungus): The tongue is known to have many variations with pigmenting, size, appearance, ; not always due to disease. Causes of tongue that looks patchy include: lichen planus (responds to steroids), white sponge nevus (familial, benign, permanent), smoker's leukoplakia (2% risk of cancer, needs biopsy), hairy leukoplakia (due to epsteinbarr virus), warts (due to papillomavirus), "thrush" (rx antifungals).

Unclear diagnosis: At your age, and if healthy, there is no reason for you to have thrush in the mouth unless your immune system is not working well or you use meds that can cause that, or you use steroids like for asthma. Have it evaluated first to make sure of the diagnosis, and if so why?

Likely: Yes Symbiocort has a steroid in it and can cause thrush.  Are you rinsing your mouth out and spitting the water out after each use?  Have you ever been treated for it? If it is really bothering you would discuss with your doctor about a possible medication adjustment.

Typically not: and if it does it will quickly resolve when thrush cleared and meds stopped

Not sure it is: I doubt what you have is thrust and the coloration of the tongue offers no help in making a diagnosis.  I suspect that the bitter taste and odor may be from bile reflux instead.  Contact your doctor. 
And yes, thrush may go away on its own -quicker if treated.

Antifungal rinse: Thrush on the tongue, besides altering your breath, can alter the taste of food.  The main reason is that the tongue has taste buds and these can be altered with thrush.

You should see your dentist to prescribe and anti-fungal mouth rinse that you can swish and gargle with.  That should quiet down the thrush and you should regain normal tasting.

i was flagyl for diverticulitis now 2 days after finishing it i have a bad taste in my mouth that reminds me of strep. i also have a white/yellow coated tongue. my throat is also a little scratchy. could this be thrush?
