See a doctor: Marks do not usually look like juandice. When the skin color tone and hue appear yellow that is usually indicative of jaundice.  If you are doing drugs, alcohol or having liver problems you need to be checked by a doctor.  Your bilirubin chemistry will measure this in detail and your doctor will order the liver tests necessary for this work up.

Easy: This is what is known as carotenemia. Carotene is a precursor of vitamin a and the yellow color comes from a build-up of carotene from the ingestion of yellow vegetables like squash and carrots. It is totally harmless and you can differentiate it from jaundice by looking at the whites of the eyes. If they are also yellow, it is jaundice. Decrease intake of yellow veggies.

Not sure: Where are they? Was there an injury at the site? Are they the only yellow sites or are you yellow elsewhere - i.e. Is it jaundice? Are they around the eye(s) or on the palsm - if s they may represent cholesterol deposits. You shudl be seen by someone who can make a determination - i suggest a dermatologist if your primary md isn't sure.

Physical exam: Although non-caucasians have skin pigmentation that darkens their skin, this is not usually evident within the first days of life, making it relatively easy to identify neonatal jaundice. However, even in pigmented individuals, jaundice (yellow skin) can be identified by careful examination of the mucus membranes, which should be pink in all individuals.
