Eye exam: She should have an eye exam to evaluate these rings. If i understand your description correctly, the gold rings could be kayser fleisher rings, copper deposits on the outer edges of the cornea. This is found in wilson's disease, an autosomal recessive (genetic) disease due to a problem with the bodies ability to store copper. Copper builds up in the body and can be deposited on the cornea.

A few thoughts: Is it new?  If within the sclera/whites of the eye: could be pinguecula. If within iris: could be sign of Wilson's disease.  Around the eyes could be a sign of swelling (allergy, kidney problems, medication side effects etc.).  Diffuse scleral yellowing or skin yellowing could be several liver abnormalities, pancreatic disease, or blood disorder involving red cells or platelets.

Usually normal: Variant. If there is no pain, redness or blurred vision then rest assured. If the blue ring is getting bigger it could be thinning of the sclera. Take a baseline picture for comparison over time.

There is an increase: in intraocular pressure when compressing the eye. This in turn can activate your photoreceptors (rods/cones) in the retina due to the vitreous gel, that fills the posterior (back) portion of the eye, shifting and inducing traction on the retina. It is not advisable to rub your eyes that hard.

If you are otherwise healthy and without ocular injuries, surgery, eye medication or systemic disease that results in ocular complications (diabetes, connective tissue disease) your color of your eyes is most likely normal.

Probable Kayser-Fleisher rings- see your ophthalmologist-can be related to several medical conditions; however, must be examined.

i have a yellow/beige ring around my pupil and in my eye. are there any eye drops that i can take to make the whites of my eyes whiter instead of them being beige?
