what causes yellow noisy watery  poop in breastfed babies? i know its normal but i'm just curious why it's not solid & brown.

Breast milk: is the ideal food for babies.  As such, most of it is absorbed in the GI tract, leaving little left over to form a solid stool.  Color is dependant on the type of food ingested, how fast it moves through the intestine and the overall functioning of the gallbladder.

when i poop its normal brown color but when i wipe only yellow gooey stuff is seen on the paper. i currently suffer from a lot stress and anxiety.

Irritable bowel.: The stool being normal is ok.The gooey stuff as you say is only stool with more water. The colon develops a rapid transit time and the stool does not get the water taken out. This is very common in irritable bowel. The stress and anxiety is very common to create this picture.This is a physical sign of what is done to the body by stress.

my 3 mo. old has had yellow brown stools about 4-5times a day for the last 3-4 days different from his 1x to evey other day green poop. is this normal?

Stools are OK: This can be normal.  If you have changed what he/she is eating, then you will see a change in the frequency and color of the stool.  If the baby is acting well, i wouldn't necessarily do anything different.  If the baby is acting ill, then  the increased frequency may be a symptom of the illness.  The color isn't significant.  If the baby is acting ill, and not eating well, he needs to see his doc.

: Stool color is made by the bile from your liver.The color range goes from dark green through the yellows and browns based on how the bile is changed in transit. What you describe is well within the range of normal.

my baby is 13 months and i have recently weaned him off breast milk. he now has whole cow's milk and since then his poop frequency has increased and also it's pale yellow (mixed with brown at times) in color.is it normal? no other problem?

:  The color of poop starts out as ultra green (bile color) and transitions through yellows to browns based on germ action in the gut. The shorter poop stays inside the more toward green it can become/longer-brown. Increasing frequency leads to the yellow. I wouldn't fret over the finding.

It can be: PPIs such as pantoprazole can cause loose stools and bloating. You may want to try off it and see if your symptoms improve. Be sure you let your doctor know about these symptoms - an alternative medication can help with less side effects.

: The yellow liquid component could be from liver,gall bladder or pancreatic issues with some malabsorption.  A gastroenterologist would be best to evaluate &amp; advise you. Any appropriate testing will be ordered.

Normal: Any shade of brown is normal. Black stool is abnormal and can indicate bleeding from the upper gastrointestinal area. Iron supplements and Pepto-Bismol can also cause black stools

Can be: Soft Tan colored stool often is due to more rapid transit of intestinal contents and it is possible that some feces travelled through the intestinal tract at different speeds leading to the two different colors in the stools. Certain foods,like fruits and salads, may have faster transit through your intestinal tract and may cause actual diarrhea in some people while lower residue foods don't.
