Yes with conditions: Yaz (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) should be taken two pills daily for 3 to 5 days within 24 hours of the unprotected intercourse event. It doies not "guarantee" that implantation will be avoided in all cases.

Yes,it's worth a try: Double up on your Yaz (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol)  pills x 3 days. It may work to prevent implantation. If not, run a pregnancy test at the end of this pack of pills to know if you are pregnant.

Yaz (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) NOT EC. : Sorry, but Yaz (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) can not be taken as emergency contraception. Please take your birth control pill as soon as you remember when you miss a regular dose.  And better yet, why don't you consider being on a long-acting reversible form of contraception, like an IUD or implant. That way you don't have to worry about forgetting the pill and becoming pregnant until you're ready!  Good luck!

Not needed: There is no reason to take the morning after pill if you're already on birth control. That is the whole point of birth control. You should be using a condom though the protect yourself from sexually  transmitted disease.

Possible Side Effect: Potential se’s w emergency contraception: tender breasts; changes in menstrual flow (spotting, bleeding, early or late period or spotting instead of period); loose stools; dizziness; headache; nausea/ vomiting; abdominal discomfort or feeling tired. If you develop chest tightness, difficulty breathing, swelling of lips, mouth, throat – call 911.  Notify your gyn if your period is 7 or &gt; days late.
