Xanax (alprazolam) or Alprazolam is very potent and physical dependence (causing your symptoms) can happen very quickly, a matter of days possibly.  It affects everyone differently, some become dependent more quickly  or slowly than others.  You should talk with your primary care doc or psychiatrist (the one who wrote your prescription).  By the way, you are not "addicted.".

You need someone to talk to, a close friend a coworker, preferable someone who has gone through this.  You need, although you don't want to, a therapist. heavy chest and trouble breathing. sternum and upper ribs are sore to touch. xanex seems to help a lot but i still have pain in chest. nausea too.

More info needed: When were you last seen by your physician?  If you are having chest pain you must be seen promptly.  If the pain is associated with increased perspiration or pain migrating to your arm or jaw, you must be seen emergently.  If your chest pain is associated with taking a deep breath, or difficulty breathing you should still be seen as soon as possible.  Feel better.
