Its possible: If the foot injury is on the same side as the phlebitis, it is possible. In the area of treatment, you still need an anticoagulant (aspirin, Heparin shots, coumadin) for the phlebitis and compression. Usually phlebitis resolves with treatment in 3 to 6 months. Sometimes an ultrasound helps.

Varies: Several causes, you would want to make sure your doctor is aware.  Can be from the chronic inflammatory state that can accompany your infection, but it could also represent infection recurrence or even necrosis.  Make sure you are followed.

: Good observation!
When you stand the pressure in you veins increases as much as 2 mm Hg per inch your toes are below your heart (hydrostatic pressure). So, if 60 inches, the pressure in you veins may go up to 120 mm Hg. Blood pools in your toes and desaturates and becomes purple. Walking squeezes blood out of your veins as they contract and,if valves are working, new, redder blood comes. Toes pink

Several reasons: Other than trauma, the first thing that comes to mind is venous insufficiency, where the valves of the deep leg veins become incompetent, causing the leg veins to become congested with unoxygenated blood, resulting in swelling with a bluish color, while the foot and leg remain warm.

Check circulation: The color purple when the foot is down can be do to circulation problems. Have this checked.. Too young for this to be normal.

Purple Foot: Poor blood circulation, which can occur on its own or as part of other conditions such as diabetes and peripheral vascular disease. Your arteries and veins are narrower and therefore there is less blood getting to the extremities such as feet and toes. You need to see a doctor, who can measure the percentage blood flow through your legs.
