Costochondritis: Inflammation catiledge painful to touch can be induced by coughing viral illness. Best treatment hot towels or heating pad. Motrin otc if no reason you should not take. If persistent see physician.

You should be seen: by your provider, or at least get a formal Concierge consult.  This sounds like a nerve kind of pain, and could be coming from a pinched nerve in your neck. 
Also look closely for a rash on the chest, as it could be shingles.  This should be treated very promptly.  Good luck!

Need "smokescreen": You need to see a MD and have your lungs and heart evaluated as you are a smoker and this "screening" is necessary to rule in or out a cause for your pain. By the way, you are only 29 years old and with your smoking you may have a short "lifetime" of heart and lung issues if you don't quit smoking now.

Better have checkup: left sided chest symptoms might be related to heart or lungs...didn't catch where it radiates towards...so I would suggest a face to face with your own primary care practitioner.

See doc: Your pain has gone on long enough that you need to be checked to find out what could be causing it.  Without an exam and knowing your whole health history and symptoms, we cannot give you a reliable answer.  Unless you use sucralose or sorbitol or have added a new supplement or food/drink type since the onset of the pain and stopping it makes it go away then an in person exam is essential.

Must call the doctor: Any person with chest, left shoulder, and left arm pain symptoms has to go to her doctor or the E.R. to be checked right away for a heart attack. That means not waiting at home to see if it becomes a bad heart attack. It could turn out to be a lung problem, a bone or muscle problem, or an acid reflux problem, but the heart attack kills people. As the saying goes, better safe than sorry.

Go see a doctor: Chest pain can be caused by a number of musculoskeletal causes from the chest muscles, chest nerves and spinal problems. I hope you do not have a pinched nerve. Rarely we see this type of chest pain from shingles but it is usually associated with a skin rash/ or blisters.I would advise an examination/check up by your family doctor. He may have to do some further teating if the pain is severe
