Cure for HIV?: Studies and experience tell us we can lower the HIV viral load to undetectable ranges. But undetectable not mean the HIV virus is not in the body. Once the HIV medications are removed the viral load increases.

i am taking arv at 20h00 at night . i will be travelling overseas. i am not sure what time i must take my medication when i am there. please advise?

Doesn't matter: I think you have been misled by warnings about not missing any ARV doses. But only repeated missed doses are a problem; missing a single dose now and then is harmless. You can either skip one dose for several hours  or take a dose early, then continue taking the drug at 20:00 in whatever time zone you're in. Same thing when you return home.

i'm on arv each time i eat i vomit everything what can i do to help?

Vomiting: Try taking a Dramamine(dimenhydrinate) 1/2 hour before eating a meal. If you're also experiencing abdominal pain,burning, bloating, vomiting of blood or coffee grounds material or having black bowel movements,see your physician or a gastroenterologist for evaluation,advice and treatment. Ask your prescribing MD if you're having a side effect of the ARV and need a change in meds.

i started my arv treatment in august and was also prescribed to take purbac strength medication. i take all this medication at the same time everyday, what do the purbac strength do and how long will i take them?

SMX-TMP for HIV: Purbac (co-trimoxazole) is sulfamethoxazole + trimethoprim (SMX-TMP). It is prescribed to HIV infected persons with immune deficiency, to prevent pneumocystis pneumonia, which can be very serious. Your doctor probably intends you to take it indefinitely; or until ARVs improve your immune system. Definitely do not stop taking it; discuss with your doctor at your next clinic visit. Good luck!

i held a bat 5 years ago, did not know they carried rabies at the time, should i get the shots? i don't remember whether it scratched me or not

Bat Contact: Rabies shots are for immediate contact days not years.  You do not need rabies shots at this point.

can vitamin b12 supplement be taken along with pcecv rabipur arv? is there any precaution to be taken during anti rabies shot?(food wise/drug wise)?

Yes: You can take Vit B12 with your anti-Rabies vaccine Rabipur. There are no special precautions of foods or otherwise, required while completing the series of shots.  Just take them on time as advised by ur physician.

good day, im pregnant and hiv positive.when is the right time to start arvs to prevent the baby from being infected .im not yet on the arv treatment?

Now: Pregnant patients with HIV should be treated as soon as possible to drive down the viral load and prevent maternal fetal transmission. There are specific protocols your doctor should follow based on NIH guidelines. Verify that your hospital has neonatal protocols in place for the delivery to also prevent transmission

Hope: Yes. But you have not shared anything specific about what they currently are ill from or if their virus is susceptible to their new ARVs.

Proctitis: You probably have proctitis or, more seriously, proctocolitis. You might have inflammatory bowel disease, i.e. ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease. These symptoms also could be rectal STDs, like gonorrhea, chlamydia (inclusing the serious chlamydia called lymphogranuloma verereum, or LGV), or herpes. Check back ASAP with your doctor, preferably the doctor/clinic treating your HIV. Good luck!
