Moisturize: The only way to treat dry skin is to replenish the oils that are lost by moisturizing.  The best time to moisturize is immediately after shower while your skin the damp.

ALLERGY SHAMPOO: It sounds as if you might, indeed, be allergic to a shampoo or to any other hair cosmetic you may be using such as a conditioner, spray, rinse, etc. 
Use a bland shampoo, such as johnson's baby shampoo for a week or more, and see if this alleviates the problem. If not, check in with a dermatologist.

By the description it is possible to that you have Contact dermatitis, it usually occurs on areas of your body that have been directly exposed to the reaction-causing substance.(blankets) The rash usually develops within minutes to hours of exposure and can last two to four weeks.To treat contact dermatitis successfully, you need to identify and avoid the cause of your reaction.

hello. i've had undiagnosed fatigue & weakness for a while now. during the winter my skin on my whole body has gone much darker. people have been asking where i got my suntan from & where i'd been on holiday. can this be caused by stress ?

: You need to rule out Addison's Disease with an ACTH stimulation test. An Endocrinologist usually performs this. You might feel stressed, but that's not the cause of your symptoms.

: Jackets protect you from cold and only partially from dryness. You should use a proper soap and moisturizing cream on exposed areas or other parts of your body in general in the winter. Wish you smooth and soft skin.

See doctor: There are many causes for generalized itching but i would suggest that you first avoid using any strong or scented soap and apply a skin moisturizer immediately after bathing.   Anxiety can induce or worsen itching as well. For the scalp itching: Wet hair-&gt;apply sesame oil-&gt;shampoo gently after 15 minutes may be helpful. Rx cortisone spray /solution may also be needed if above failed.

Sounds simple: But you must moisturize, possibly several times a day.  Avoid soaps with scents. Use a humidifier in your home.

Winter Itch: Cerave cream 2-4 times a day which is otc and Cortaid (hydrocortisone) or cortisone 10 twice a day. If those products are not effective then see your dermatologist.
