See below: You may experience some vaginal irritation with tampons if you are used to inserting them which would explain the blood.  You could try using KY jelly or try using a different tampon.

See a GYN MD: The bleeding pattern that you describe could be coming from something inside the uterus besides the endometrium such as a fibroid. Make an appointment with a GYN MD or clinic and a ultrasound and other testing with the exam may identify the source(s).

Yes and no: Bleeding heavy enough to change a tampon every hour is too much. Most doctors would recommend you double up on the pill until bleeding is under control. However, your doctor will want to hear about this problem and i would proceed with their recommendations.

Worrisome: Sounds like a self treatment for vaginosis. There may be something in the yogurt that she is reacting to or the original problem may be getting worse.It may be a good idea to remove the tampon and rinse the area with a plain douche &amp; schedule a visit with her doc soon.

Compressing urethra: it sounds like the ransom is compressing your urethra. You may try to place the tampon deeper in the vagina. If that doesn't help, you may just need to use pads.

Period: Your period blood flow is decreasing, which may be a normal age related change due to a decrease in estrogen. An ultrasound test can check the lining of your uterus and check your ovaries. Serum FSH, LH, TSH, PRL, estradiol levels may help evaluate further.
