Go ahead: There does not seem to be any reason to stay away from a hot tub, because you have a ureteral stent.
Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless, to facilitate the passage of stone and to prevent the formation of new stones.

Perhaps: To the best of my knowledge there are no research studies on this, but kidney stones can be very painful and spasms of muscles around the ureters could make it more difficult to pass. Perhaps: One of the treatments for kidney stones involves increasing the flow through the kidneys, and water may help some, but an IV of saline (salt water) increases it much more. Drinking salt water is not usually well tolerated, but large volumes of oral or IV fluids that contain various salts and water may help if the stone is not attached or stuck in the ureter.

A few things: The likelyhood of passing a stone depends on certain factors. Larger stones and those higher up in the ureter are less likely to pass. Some medicines like tamsulosin or Nifedipine may help and analgesia is often important. Staying hydrated is usually recommended although overdoing this with an obstructing stone could cause problems. It's important to follow up to assure that the stone has passed.

Not likely: There would not be any direct connection traditionally between passing a kidney stone and blood in stool.  It's hard to distinguish what it might be in this venue.  It's important whether it's bright red or dark/tarry.  Regardless, it is worth getting seen by your primary physician as soon as you can.  If the amount of blood increases or your feel dizzy/light-headed, go the to the ER.

Sepsis: He really should be on antibiotics given IV. So this would at lest require that he spends a few days in hospital. Sepsis can progress rapidly and affect other organ systems so it has to be treated.
