If it helps: There are many over the counter treatments that are formulated to help with menstrual symptoms, if they work for you then you can certainly use them and if gas x works the same logic applies.

No: I am tempted to say of course simply to encourage you to quit altogether.  But in truth one or two cigarettes every few weeks will not interact with your birth control.

i'm already infertile, i take birth control to help with the monthly bleeding. would taking a prohormone mess with my birth control very much?

Accepted Answer

Yes: Estrogen and testosterone are very similar in their chemistry within your body differing solely by a few .  Higher testosterone levels in women can effect estrogen.  I'm not sure why you would take the risks of prohormone, even given that you are infertile.

i had unprotected sex friday night. i am on the combination birth control pill. i was just prescribed amoxicillin-pot clavulanate. could it mess with my birth control pill and make me ovulate and possibly become pregnant from the sex i had 2 days ago?

Accepted Answer

: Antibiotics do not make women ovulate. In theory they may reduce the effectiveness of low-dose pills, but this is exceedingly rare. There is no chance of conception in this situation; don't worry about it.

Antibiotics and ocps: Antibiotics can affect women on oral contraceptive pills, but should have no effect on fertility if you are on Depo Provera (medroxyprogesterone) "birth control shot".

No: No it does not affect mental state.

my birth control is messing up my cycle. what do you suggest?

Accepted Answer

Missed pills: If you forget to take a one pill, take it as soon as you remember. If you don't remember until the next day, go ahead and take 2 pills that day. If you forget to take your pills for 2 days, take 2 pills the day you remember and 2 pills the next day. You will then be back on schedule. If you miss more than 2 birth control pills, call your health care provider for instructions.

what if i take plan b while i'm on birth control will it mess anything up?

Not in an adult: Only if you are a shark.   If you still have a baby tooth as an adult there is generally not another  tooth ready to come in.  Sometimes  permanent teeth are missing.
See your dentist  to see what is going  with your teeth

my girlfriend had to take her birth control at 8:52 last night and she always takes it at 9 oclock at night. would that mess anything up?is she still protected ?(she has never missed a pill and takes it everyday at 9 except yesterday a littler earlier)

Should be ok. : As long as she has not actually missed a pill it should be fine. I tell patients to take a pill at the same time daily so they don't forget a pill.

Withdrawal bleeding: You will have early withdrawal bleeding, but will stop when you resume your contraceptive. Be sure to use a 'back up' method of contraception if you are sexually active to avoid pregnancy.
