Eye check: have your eyes tested.you could be blocking vision in one eye!
generally patching and retraining your eyes should be done during child hood , at the present time they may try special lenses .or surgery to correct the lazy eye

Generally No: The vast majority of visual development is complete by age 7 or 8.  Some improvement in vision may be attained at ages up to 18 or so but the gains are modest.  It's best to begin treatment as early as possible.

You are lucky: He is still young enough for treatment.  Take him asap to see a pediatric ophthalmologist.  If you don't, he will have a blind eye forever.

Define "lazy eye": Most use the term for vision loss from one eye but some do for an  eye that is not in alignment.  Surgery can help with an alignment problem in kids and adults. The lazy eye (amblyopia) of vision loss can be helped if caught early. This is the brain turning off an eye with confusing input. Adults with long term amblyopia have permanent loss, even if surgery can lined up the eyes correctly.

is it possible for a person to get a lazy eye after boxing for several years?

Yes: Boxing causes repeated trauma to the eye which usually withstands this due to a structure called the vitreous gel which holds things in place (mostly the retina).  But sometimes this is not enough, the retina may detach, the vision drops and the eye drifts out of alignment - which is the term for a "lazy eye".  If you must box, protect your eyes.

Turning off vision: The brain utilizes the input of both eyes to aid in depth perception/distance etc. As a child grows, their eyes may have different strength, or weakness in an eye muscle may allow one to line up wrong. The fuzzy or double vision confuses the brain. Over time the brain may turn off the input of one eye & keep the best. That process is called amblyopia. If  caught early it can be fixed, if late, not.

Amblyopia: You have such a huge difference in power between each eye that your brain in childhood chose your left eye and is ignoring the fine detail part of the right eye (the peripheral is normal).  This, unfortunately, is a permanent situation.  The time to have brought up the vision in the right eye would have been patching in childhood.

can a sleepy eye/lazy eye (just one eye looking a bit more upwards) cause eyelids to be droopy, making you look tired? i'm 20 years old.

Sleepy eye: It is possible you may a ptosis or lid lag. Check with your doctor or a neurologist.

Varies: After long term "lazy eye" the brain generally turns off the camera like input that gives it a blurred or double image. The longer that has been in place, the less likely aligning the eyes will restore vision to that eye so surgery is cosmetic, If the re-aligned eye does not function normally to maintain tracking, it may drift away again over time. The eye surgeon can give you current success rate
