i was previously taking metoprolol succinate but it caused heartburn now i recently started losartan and im starting to feel the heartburn why ? ( i had no heartburn while taking propranolol but caused terrible headache?

hhalthy 54 y/ hypertension.  diovan (valsartan) not appvd anymore. tried ramipril, metrotar, losartan. micardis 40 mg causing jitters/stomach upset/irritbl. help!

May be related : Losartan can occasionally be associated with chest pain. Would consider switching to another med and see what happens.  Many other meds are available to treat hypertension and stopping it is easy to do to see if symptoms resolve.

ARB vs Olmesartan: I am a HTN Specialist. Neither.  The recommendation since 1999 is to first give the DASH DIET a trial. Use Cronometer to track your Na and K intake and then 
Move to DASH goals. Less than 1,500 mg 
Na and more than 4,700 mg K.  If it works you BP will be better in 1 wk(systolic)/diastolic in two. And no meds. If that does not work next is chlorthalidone. But discuss with team. May your BP b low!

my bp was 140/90 from 10 days as of stress, dr give me cozaar (losartan) 50, i stopped after from 2 days, as the stress is gone and its 120/80 can this be fatal?

Understandable.: Those numbers are not fatal.  They are understandable given the stress you were experiencing.  Glad your numbers came down with resolution of stress.  All makes sense.

BPgoals & MedRequest: In general a systolic blood pressure between 110-135 is a good range for someone taking medications. There are special reasons that some doctors may change the goal blood pressure for a patient. Some physicians use higher blood pressure goals for elderly patients.
