Assist breathing: Bronchitis could cause a tight sensation in the chest. Prednisone is a steroid that works to open up the bronchioles. Prednsione can sometimes help to improve the tight sensation. It also helps to improve wheezing if it is heard on physical examination.

Not particularly: I never had occasion to use in over more than 3 decades in primary care. That said, I do not have your history or exam findings and am not informed of any additional issues at the visit. Sounds lie you need to communicate more with the treating doc.

Common: That&#x27;s common with chronic urticaria, prednisone was to control a flare up, and not to eradicate it altogether, you still have to be on daily antihistamines to control the chronic condition, better see an allergist / dermatologist if you haven&#x27;t done so already, check aaaai.org or acaai.org for an allergist in your area, good luck

Cervical node: If it is pea sized and mobile it sounds like a safe lymph node. Worrisome lymph nodes are generally larger; about an inch and are not mobile and often there are more than 1. Continue to follow up with your doctor and if it changes; consider a biopsy. All the best.

Rash: Rash is a sign of irritated or inflamed skin.  When you actually tan, that is an expression of Skin Damage.    You may have worsening of your rash, independently of the recommendation to avoid tanning beds in the first place.

strep/mono tests were both negative but doc still thinks its strep. i am now on amoxicillin and prednisone and getting hives breakouts. was on a diff antibiotic, thought i was allergic bc of hives and went to a diff doc. but im still breaking out. ?

Drug rash or mono?: One or the other of the two doctors -- probably the most recent one -- is in the best position to judge whether the rash is drug allergy and which antibiotic is responsible. Notably, drug rash with amoxicillin is especially common in infectious mononucleosis. And mono itself may cause rash. Ask your doctor(s) about possible retesting for mono.
