Opiate recovery: Suboxone is used for detox from opiate addiction (heroin, oxycodone, oxycontin, etc) and opiate recovery maintenance to stop the withdrawal symptoms but it does not make people high.

See below: Either component can cause stomach upset.  I find half those with chronic upset do better with subutex.  Half it makes no difference

It depends: Withdrawal symptoms can occur after abruptly stopping any opiate. Such withdrawal symptoms are minimized by following the doctor's instructions and slowly tapering your daily dose over time. It's much easier to discontinue from, for example, one half a milligram per day than eight or even sixteen milligrams per day. My advice is to not believe all those "stories" out there. Good luck.

Doctor's Advice: The best treatment for Suboxone withdrawal will be contained in the advice one receives from their own prescribing physician. That is because, we cannot know the ins and outs of your particular case here on healthtap. So, the best advice I have is to see a dr if you don't already have one. If you do have one, discuss tapering off Suboxone in a systematic fashion. Doing it alone leads to relapse.

Suboxone /: buprenorphine is a better drug for opiate dependence.  It is safer and does not require daily visits to a clinic.  It also has a blocking ability that keeps you from using other opiates which methadone does not have.  Methadone also has a variable half-life which make one more prone to unintentional overdose. Averages $98/14pills: CVS and Walgreens have for about $60 for 14 pills.  I've seen various coupons ranging from $10 off to 50% off.  Depends on your coupon.  But without a coupon expect to pay about $120-220 per month.

Depends : Suboxone contains both Buprenorphine and naloxone. Both have a relatively long half life so would likely take 1-2 weeks before not detectable on drug screen if that is what you are concerned about. Fortunately detox is much less traumatic than with shorter acting opiates.

Getting off suboxone: It sounds like you were started on Suboxone after taking other prescribed opiates (including oxycodone) with a plan to taper the Suboxone and come off of all opiate pain medication. The length of your Suboxone taper should be determined in consultation with your doc, and will take into consideration your clinical response, dosage, prior length of tx with opiates. Always take exactly the Rxed dose.
