Lymph node disease can sometimes be cured. Those patients with isolated metastasis to the brain or to the adrenal gland have a much more favorable prognosis than patients with widespread disease.  Average survival for stage IV disease is about 8 months.

God only knows : Depends on the kind of cancer, how aggressive it behaves, which organs it involves, how healthy (or sick) is the patient, and many other factors. The focus should be on establishing the best quality of life for whatever time they get, be it a day or a year. Hospice is perfectly suited for this situation. Sorry if it's about a loved one.

Poor prognosis: If it has not metastasized it is called a wet stage 3 b  and in new classification it is stage 4 the prognosis is bad 9 months to a year with modern chemotherapy it is somewhat better but still very limited nber of patients survive beyond a year.

No: A single exposure to second hand smoke will not alter your risk for lung or any other cancer. Keep up the exercise.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.
