Same as: Clinical hypothyroidism. With synthroid (thyroxine) but instead of titrating your dose based on symptoms and TSH & ft4 level we would just monitor symptoms.

THYROID: Check thyroid and TSH blood levels and be sure you're getting enough medication, does your dr know youre tired? Dr & patient are a team. Patient's job is to keep dr informed and follow the best recommended path. Keep up your side of the team!

Look for another cau: If your thyroid is functioning normally(not under active) then the cause of your tiredness is not thyroid related. There are many other causes that only your doctor can define/address by examining you and testing your lab.Make sure that you are not anemic(check cbc) and your emotional health is normal and that you are sleeping well. Anyone of these can be cause for day time fatigue and need attent.

Check thyroid first: B"sd
If being on a med for "low TSH"  means treatment with an antithyroid drug for hyperthyroidism, then the first concern is your thyroid status as this requires frequent monitoring.  Thyroid function will change depending on the dose and effectiveness of the medication and the course of the underlying thryoid disease. can low thyroid cause hair loss and heart palpitations? i have hashimoto and started having this along with tiredness. lowered my dose and feel better but now my tsh is way too high. 36.6 when it should be between 1-5 or 0-5 or something such as that?

: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that,your TSH, as you recognize is too high and indicates undertreatment. It would be prudent to consult your doctor for adjustment in dose.

Multiple causes: Deconditioning, poor diet, depression, infections, inflammatory conditions, anemia, cardiac and respiratory disease.

Yes: both hypo and hyperthyroidism can cause fatigue and affect testosterone level.  Get your thyroid level check.  If the labs are normal, you cannot blame the thyroid anymore and need to look elsewhere to see what else could be causing your symptoms.  The easiest way to rule out a thyroid problem is to proceed with lab work.

Fatigue: A severe overactive thyroid will likely interfere with sleep and result in fatigue. That needs fairly urgent attention.

An underactive thyroid may make you drowsy. That can be corrected by having your doctor check your thyroid levels and optimize your dose.

NO: If your thyroid levels are normal, (both TSH and free t4), your fatigue symptoms would be related to something else.  Unfortunately, fatigue is one of the most common symptoms that people have with almost any disorder.  If it persists, you should see your primary md for evaluation.  In your age group, anemia due to iron deficiency, is a common cause.

is it possible for thyroid to cause constipation even if you have no other thyroid symptoms, such as fatigue or low temp?

Hypothyroid: Severe low thyroid (hypothyroidism) can cause constipation - but t is very unusual for that to be the only symptom. A simple blood test (TSH) will immediately tell you if you have low thyroid function.
