Ear fluid: It sounds as if it is time to see and ENT for an evaluation and otoscopic examination. Nasal decongestants may help but you may require antibiotics. A ctscan or MRI may be needed to evaluate other causes.

I : I can understand your concerns as 5 weeks is a long time to have this going on.  It sounds like your ct scan showed sinusitis.  Sinusitis can sometimes change from viral to bacterial, and as yours has lasted 5 weeks it would be important to be re-assessed to see if you need antibiotics.  This is especially important for you, as you have had a valve replacement, as we are always very concerned that a patient with a valve replacement may have problems with untreated infections.  I would advise medical evaluation for your continued symptoms, and to be sure that the doctor you see is aware of your prior valve surgery and any medications that you currently take.

did nasal irrigation (like neti pot) in feb. and water got stuck in my ears. water is gone but ear pressure remains that was not present before. why?

Probable Eustachian : Either the saline irritated the eustachian tube or some of the irrigant got into the middle ear.  It is not clear how long it may take to clear but in children may take 3months.  The sensation may also be from the illness that started the process in the first place.

i have a cold and my ears keep plugging up and won't pop for a while. thanks to neti pot, nose spray and pseudoephedrine, sinuses otherwise seem ok, just ears plug up. is doing vasalva maneuvre ok while having a cold, or could it cause ear infection?

Ear blockage: The blockage is caused by the Eustachian tube, which runs from the back of the nose to the middle ear, being clogged with mucus. To dislodge this sticky mucus, try steam inhalation and irrigating your nasal passages with warm salt water. Vigorous valsalva maneuvers are not advisable and don't dislodge the mucus in the Eustachian tube.

can methotrexate cause buzzing in my ears???

: Methotrexate can have some serious side effects including  ringing of the ears, hearing loss, kidney damage, hair loss , anemia &amp; infections especially when low white Ella count.
Speak to your doctor about it right away so it can be changed  if possible. Hope  it helps.

Tinnitus: You need to get with an otolaryngologist. Ringing in the ears is common and if it is of new onset it may be treatable / have a cause identified. Even if it is something with which you must learn to live (as sadly it often is), there are treatments that can help you reprogram yourself so it bothers you less. This requires sub-subspecilalist consultation. Good luck.

Buzzing: Postural hypotension or benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. Best to see your PCP.

Tinnitus: The buzz is referred to as tinnitus, which can have several different causes. Some common causes of tinnitus are hearing loss, loud noise exposure, certain medications, ear wax or other causes o blocakge, and high blood pressure. There are several other causes as well. If it continues your should be evaluated by your physician.

Eustachian tube: If you can take a decongestant such as sudafed, that may help your problem.  If not see your physician for what may be safe for you. OTC nasal steroid spray may help also such as Nasocort AQ.

: The buzzing in your ears is likely tinnitus which is considered a mild, late adverse effect of methotrexate by PDR.
