No!: Colds are extremely common in children of all ages.  In a baby who is 50 days old, a cold will most likely cause a runny nose, cough, and even perhaps a mild fever.  A simple cold in no way will affect her brain or her growth.

: Hello. The “brain freeze” symptoms are not typically noted without a trigger. It’s worth a visit to her Pediatrician and possibly an ENT vs Pediatric Neurologist. It’s most probably a trigger maybe from allergy or an irritant and maybe a steroid nasal spray like Flonase can help. I hope this helps.

More info: Do you also get them on just one side of the head and/or behind or above the eye, nasal congestion or stuffy nose or eye tearing? Or do you feel like you are very restless during the pain? That would be reminiscent of a cluster headache. Or possibly a primary stabbing headache. I would strongly suggest talking to your doctor about this for proper diagnosis and treatment. Probably migraine: Frequently brain freeze occurs in migraine patients, and sometimes the migraines themselves give this feeling. If you have been getting headaches for a while, this is almost certainly the cause, particularly if otherwise normal. You may have some medication overuse/rebound headache as well from taking many otc pain meds. A headache neurologist should be able to help you with the appropriate meds.
