whenever i put in a tampon it feels like i am pushing against something and it really hurts is this bad?

Accepted Answer

Yes: You may have an old tampon left in there or something is dropping and out of place.  Use your fingers to check for anything that does not feel like tissue, and if possible gently pull it out.  If you can't pull it out, or if that hurts worse, please go to your GP or clinic.  Please don't delay if you have any fever or odor coming from there.

Why do it: Better to use pads this cycle and resume tampons once the UTI is gone.

No. : It’s a good idea to use the smallest size tampon when you are learning how for the first time. It is also easier to insert it when your period  is moderate to heavy as this allows the tampon to glide in more easily. 
If the tampon is inserted correctly, you should not feel it. If you feel uncomfortable in any way, you may have inserted it incorrectly or not in enough. Never force it in!

Recommend that you avoid super tampons with cardboard applicators when you first start. There are may u tube videos that provide instruction on proper tampon insertion. Change tampons roughly every 4 to 6 hours. Moms can usually give advice about tampon use.

ok so i put in my tampon and it shifted sideways ive noticed all my tampons do this every period i don't think i put it in wrong becuz it doesn't hurt?

Stop, see, &amp; consult: Based on what reported, it is logical to just stop further use of tampon, wait, and see. If symptoms does not gradually subside as expected in 2-5 days, seek evaluation and counseling for assuring no UTI or injury and future proper use of tampon.

we took plan b a week ago and i just spotted this morning. i've had mood swings and headaches for  3 days. also it hurt to put a tampon in. concerns?

Maybe: The spotting, mood swings and headaches are common side-effects after Plan b.   Pain with tampon insertion isn't.  That is more likely to be an infection.  Have it checked out if it is persistent.  Best wishes!

i have right leg (thigh) swelling and a hip mass they said it was bursitis but it doesnt hurt.hip only hurts when i open my legs,my vagina is swollen today that i cant put a tampon in it. do you think these two are related beingso close toeachother?

: The 'they' are not correct. Pl see a doc/ orthopod who will examine you and do appropriate tests and treat you. now If not possible go to an ER. Good luck

That can happen.: Especially if the tampon is quite dry when it is removed. If it is inserted at an incorrect angle that can also cause discomfort. Try a tampon with a smooth tipped inserter vice a cardboard inserter. Take care.
