Probably normal: Birth control patches contain strong hormones to suppress ovulation. Stopping them early will frequently imbalance the hormones being produced by the ovary and result in irregular bleeding, more than one period and increased cramping. This usually regulates itself within 1-2 cycles.

Pregnancy test: Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections &amp;  hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do  a home pregnancy test .  There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit.

This is common .....: ...but surprising when this first happens to you. Hormonal imbalances disrupt the normal rise and fall of the reproductive hormones estrogen and progesterone. These are often triggered by stress, illness, fatigue, etc. Obviously, if you are sexually active this makes it very difficult to predict ovulation and avoid/pursue pregnancy. OK to watch another month or so; if persists, see your Doctor:)

Early period: quite common and usually not a concern. Anything affecting ovulation time could affect regularity, like stressful time.  Car accident most concerning: was your mind wandering, distracted, on phone(hands-free or not), texting?

While oral contraceptive pills may correct the cycle, it also can mask the true underlying issues that must be addressed.

It is: Likely due to irregular ovulation.  They may normalize but as you get older, prior to menopause, your hormones can work irregularly.  It could also be related to anatomical issues such as uterine fibroids.  Consider getting seen.  Your doc may want to do a bx. To exclude a problem on the inside of the uterus, but this is very uncommon at your age ( endometrial cancer).  Good luck.

hey...is it okay to dance or exercise for an hour continously during the second day of one's menstrual period?or is there any risk?

Listen to your body: Depends on whether the exercise increases your bleeding and makes you uncomfortable. Everyone is different.  If you have increased bleeding take it a bit easier. Also be sure to take iron so you don't become deficient. Fun exercise like dancing  is great for your health.
