albumin went from avg of 4.8 my whole life down to 3.6 last exam. all other levels were normal but protein and potassium slightly lower than usual. is this cause of concern for such a sudden change? last exam was month ago. albumin never this low?

: My rule is to always repeat a test that has changed a lot to make certain if was not an error in the assay that day. Your Dr who ordered the test may have a better idea of what is normal form this lab in folks like you who live in Patterson.

Worrying too much: Your K+ issue is only troublesome if you are vomiting excessively  for more than a couple of days (Norovirus usually affects people for that duration).  You can replenish the fluid and electrolytes by drinking a Rx electrolyte liquid or even OTC sports drinks.

Other way around: Potassium (K+) levels vary from hour to hour based on intake via food and supplements. Its the kidneys job to eliminate excess and prevent loss when K+ is low. K+ range outside of approx 2 to 8 is not compatable with life and the 1st effect will be to stop your heart. A dammaged kidney may not effectively regulate K+ but isn't injured by K+. To reduce K+ reduce foods high in potassium.

HKPP: This is hyperkalemia periodic paralysis. I've seen it missed even by physicians who should have thought of it. It's manageable. There's a hypokalemic variant and others. Good luck.

do potassium blood levels change as fast as glucose blood levels? i have premature beats worse when k is low jw if my levels can be normal one day and back low the next, has been down to 3.1 but idk whybi take a ppi but no other reason i can think of

Low potassium levels: Usually the body regulates potassium levels well, but certainly both underlying conditions, such as kidney issues and medicines you take, can influence the level.  While your level of 3.1 is not dangerously low, it certainly is a concern if you're experiencing multiple lab reports with low values. You should make an appointment with your doctor to discuss this. Also look at the PPI use.
