Try some "simple": things....Hot Tea with or without Honey the tannic acid acts as a "mucolyitic"  and soothes inflammed throat tissue ,   a vaporizer  throat DRYNESS may be the "culprit" especially in winter months. FINALLY you may have a viral sore throat and other viral symptoms could follow. HIGH FEVER, or "spots" on your tonsils .a contact with your FP (GP) is indicated,

It could be: Irritation/inflammation from post nasal drip, acid reflux.Allergens; infection from a virus or bacteria etc. Gargling with warm salt water or listerine and taking tylenol (acetaminophen) may help. Go see your dr for reassurance.Take care!

Doctor can evaluate: New throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or mild flu (antibiotics are not used), or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, a person sees the doctor if the sore throat is very painful (as in this case), recurrent, or doesn't go away in a day or two (to check for strep throat). Throat lozenges can decrease throat pain temporarily.

: Never heard of. a problem due to this. But check with local Drs as the make of chips where you live may be harder than where I have practiced.

Burning throat: Greetings. The burning throat should be evaluated by an ENT doc. Not sure if you have voice changes or swallowing difficulty but an endoscopic evaluation is probably a good idea if your meds for reflux isn't working. It may take more time and you may add an antacid as needed. Reduce the acid in your diet, sleep with your head elevated, avoid eating before bed, lose weight and st smoking may help.
