Needs evaluation: This requires an exam and testing. Genital herpes needs to excluded as a cause. Other skin disorders such as lichen sclerosis and lichen simplex chronicus are possibilities. Even recurrent yeast can be a cause.

An exam: Is the only way to find out if this needs treatment. If it seems to be spreading you should schedule an appt as soon as possible. There are many possibilities from your description. HPV is very common and can look like a patch of dry skin.

You need to be: checked for an infection, possibly BV (bacterial vaginosis). BV is not particularly dangerous but suggests a significant disruption in the normal bacterial flora.The most important thing is to make sure you haven't acquired a more harmful sexually transmitted infection. See a doctor as tests need to be performed/condition treated, either with oral and/or topical meds. Always use condoms!
