Could be nothing: Or could be a sign of inflammation /ibd or ibs or infection in your colon, anal fissures, remnants of food particles etc. Go see your dr for reassurance ! (pls read link below).

Colitis?: Is this new?  Any fevers?  And what's the consistency - normal or loose?  This could be an infection if new, or an inflammatory bowel condition if more chronic.

Lab: this sounds like dietary fiber mixed with mucous; however, I would suggest a stool analysis and culture for parasites if you are not certain.

Pregnancy: Pregnancy is a common cause of many changes in bowel habits. There is nothing wrong with you. You may take fiber laxative to facilitate bowel movement.

Maybe. Time 4 help?: Abdominal pain is never normal, &amp; significant pain even less so. Lots of things cause left sided abdominal pain and altered stooling--see earlier healthtap answers please, including my earlier one to you. Not the ketchup.: Ketchup would most likely have been completely digested and would not be visible in the stool as stringy red material.  I will bet that it will resolve completely on its own, but if it persists, and If it appears to be blood,  I would discuss it with your primary care doctor. Good luck.

See your doctor: There are many potential causes of your bleeding, but anytime you have rectal bleeding it is important to seek out the source. It may turn out to be nothing important, but there is always the chance that it may be related to something serious, such as colon cancer, so you shouldn't ignore it. Do not delay. Good luck.

Poop color...: ..Changes with diet, with viruses, and with many other factors.  The color of the poop doesn't concern me unless it's black  or red.  What concerns me more is she is "stuffed up and coughing really bad."  that could just mean she had a cold, or at 6 months it could be something more.  I encourage you to err on the side of caution and see he pediatrician.

IF: menstrual blood is black - don't worry. That just means that old blood is being cleaned from the uterus. If your bowel movement is black - that might be from taking peptobismol or iron. However since you take motrin and are suffering from abdominal pain - it would be important to ensure that it is not due to blood. Black, tarry, malodorous stool can be related to GI bleeding. Take care.

See your doc.: This can't be good. Should see your doc to consider doing some studies and think about looking up your backside to make sure that you don't have significant disease.
