Maybe: If you do not usually drink milk, any kind of milk can cause bloating if you are lactose intolerant.  If you switched from skim or regular mild to 2% then I don't think that's the cause.  Is your cereal high fiber? What else is going on in your diet? Talk with your doctor about this, and consider seeing a nutritionist for expert advice on healthy eating.

No: But those with lactose intolerance usually get bloated from milk. Consider trying lactose-free milk or take a couple of lactase pill before consuming milk.  There are also other causes for bloating and you should talk to your doctor about this is the above suggestion does not help.

Likely: If the illness affected the intestinal, the inflammation may lead to a transient loss of lactase and thus lactose intolerance.  The lack of exposure to lactose for a few months may also reduce the body's production of lactase also. Wait another 3 months and try milk again. Let us know what follows.

The : The most important thing you left out in your post is if you have seen a medical professional for this problem. If not that needs to be done asap. The easy simple answer here would be gas. Try over the counter beabo or gas-x. Also, you could be dealing with lactose intolerance, try a week with no dairy products and monitor for improvement.
 To answer your question, "is it anything serious"  is very difficult. The most worrisome thing would be a tumor (benign or cancerous) but that is not very likely. However, in order to get to the bottom of this you need a medical work up.
