External hemorrhoids: Hemorrhoids are present in 50 % of the US population.
There are internal and external, most of the time asymptomatic.  The external, if thrombosed, require surgery, as diet will not dissolve the clots. But will soften the stools which is very important.One method is ligation, in which a rubber band is placed around the base of the hemorrhoid. The band cuts off blood circulation and, as a result, the hemorrhoid withers away within days. Another method is sclerotherapy - injection of a chemical solution around the blood vessel to shrink it. A third technique relies on infrared coagulation to destroy the hemorrhoid by burning. And lastly, a surgical procedure known as hemorrhoidectomy is occasionally recommended for extensive or severe hemorrhoids to completely remove them

Not necessarily bad: but floating stool is an exception, not norm. Stool floats in part when it contains a lot of air or gas. Diet plays a considerable role in stool composition, but additional roles here are played by your bacterial flora, the effectiveness of food digestion/ malabsorption, GI transit time, more. Exposures? Travel? Persistently altered bowel habits deserve medical attention &amp; evaluation of pain pls.

Light color stol: Lighter color stool can occur with more rapid transit through the intestinal tract. You may have an element of irritable bowel syndrome or be eating lots of fiber in your diet. It doesn't appear that you have malabsorption or a serious digestive disorder.

How much, how long..: All depends on duration of, severity of symptoms, any associated symptoms, causative factors, etc. Floating stool usually filled with air/gas, not fat. See your doc to get examined.

Floater or Sinker: The sinkability of stool depends on the amount of air/gas, not the amount of fat, although vary fatty stools will tend to float. Are you having any symptoms? What was the reason you had test to begin with? Of course, celiac disease needs to be ruled out, but dietary changes which affect the population of gas forming bacteria in the gut can also be in play. Your md will sort it out.

Fatty feces: If you are eating a lot of fatty foods, the feces will float. This is also common in patients with gall bladder disease that cannot digest the extra intra-intestinal fat.

Fat in stools: if your weight is normal ( meaning you eat and gain weight normally) ( and not--- eat a lot but not able to gain weight) --- basically I am referring to malabsorption issues with gut---- you should be ok. If concerns about malabsorption --- from gut--- please see a GI specialist

Sinking stools: Sinking is good. Most normal stools sink. When a person has persistently floating stools, we tend to wonder if they have too much fat in them, which could mean they are not absorbing food normal in the digestive tract.
