Upper respiratory catarrhal conditions and gastroesophageal reflux disease are also common offenders. Endocrine and metabolic disease can cause this, some medications-e.g. Metronidazole, and neurological smell/taste derangement (dysgeusia).

  Oral metallic taste symptoms are probably a result of the Effexor (venlafaxine) and Enalapril and Hydrochlorothiazide. The matallic taste may result from one or a combination of these meds. Speak with prescribing  MDs.
