Not necessarily: Very rarely do people become allergic to potatoes, especially cooked. You dont mention what you ate with them and how they were prepared. It must be a GI upset

Allergy v Intolerant: There are many different reactions to foods including true allergic reactions, food intolerance, and food sensitivity. If you were allergic, food ingestion would cause symptoms including hives, itching, swelling, breathing trouble, throat tightness, etc. Gas, cramps, GI discomfort, diarrhea with food ingestion usually related to intolerance. Try avoiding potatoes and see if symptoms resolve.

Why eat them then?: Food intolerance is common, variable, and individual and may even include such innocuous ingestants as water. Reference: elaine shimberg, "relief from ibs".  How are your potatoes prepared, ; how much of them do you consume? Nothing wrong with cutting back on a food that consistently bothers you to eat it.

Yes: Food that has not been properly kept may give you pain or other symptoms. You may have pain and only think it was caused by your last meal. If your pain does not get better soon you should see your doctor.

Depends: Depends on what the cause of the distended stomach is. If it is from excess gas, you need to find out if it is a milk intolerance, a simple sugar intolerance, and overgrowth of bacteria. There are many causes. I would suggest starting with a evaluation by  your physician. Some stomach intestine specialists, can do breath tests to determine specific causes of distended bellies.

im scared. my fiance cooked a baked potato two nights ago. she let them cool off then wrapped them in foil and out them in the fridge. i took a bite of one the next day and today my stomach feels uneasy is this botulism??

: Baked potato is not a potential botulism source. This situation also is extremely low risk for food poisoning of any kind.

Potato chips...: The different ingredients, flavors and fat content in those can cause heartburn which is most likely the problem here. Avoiding this the of food, and junk food in general, is advisable. If symptoms are persistent take antacids for symptom control.

Could be food: sensitivity or another GI disorder.  Please see your doc.  Great Plains Laboratory in KS has a good food sensitivity panel.  Conventional lab work can be less sensitive.  It may be a sensitivity rather than full blown celiac disease.  Peace and good health.

Heartburn?: Sounds like you may have heartburn aka reflux aka GERD. Most people get flares when they eat something that triggers it, and then can have symptoms for days or more whenever they eat or lie down.
