Not a porblem: The pinna or auricle of the outer ear and face have a rich superficial blood supply innervated by a unique set of nerves called the autonomic nervous system.  If the vagus nerve (an autonomic nerve) is stimulated, the blood vessels dilate and you will see flushing and feel heat to the outer ear and face.  This may be related to anxiety but in any case is rarely of significance in most cases.

Tension migraine: Tension migraine is a type of headache caused by contraction of neck muscles that attach to the skull. The headaches often worsen as the day progresses. Treatment includes massage, physical therapy, biofeedback and meditation to reduce stress and anxiety. Botox injections in the scalp muscles and  a variety of medications may reduce the headaches. See a neurologist who specializes in headaches.

Hot/cold/pregnant: Infections, anxiety and hormone changes can lead women to have strong sensations of being hot.  Women can experience sudden and dramatic increases in estrogen and Progesterone that can result in changes in temperature and mood.  If it becomes concerning, please call your healthcare provider and get evaluated.

could i be allergic to certain tampons if after having one in for 10 minutes my skin all over starts to get red like a sunburn & my ears feel on fire?

Yes: There may be a fabric, scent or other additive that your body has an intolerance to. Look at the labeling to see what additives are present that differ from other types you have used as that may be the agent you react to.

Allergic Rhinitis: Likely allergies along with allergic conjunctivitis and eustachian tube dysfunction. Can be helped by nasal irrigation, otc antihistamines and possibly rx nasal steroid.

i'm 18 weeks pregnant and today i was at a place where very loud fire alarms went off. it hurt my ears. could this have harmed my baby?

Acoustic trauma: No. If that was the case, there would be a lot of birth defects due to loud noise that billions of pregnant women have been exposed to throughout history. Be more concerned about what you put in or on your body than what your ears are exposed to. Having said that, you can sustain nerve damage from repeated acoustic trauma which should be avoided for your health.

Redness?: Could be skin rash , inflammed cartilage or part of flushing on face. Inflammation of cartilage on both ears can be associated with inflammation. Redness can be part of systemic infection or even allergic reaction. Short term cold compresses and antiinflammatories. Watch for other symptoms than see doc for evaluation.

Sinusitis: You can try a decongestant, but if it has been three weeks, an antibiotic may be more appropriate.  There are also prescription nasal sprays which might help too.

Pop Pop Fizz Fizz...: "There's more than meets the eye" -anon (and a feeble mind, I might add). OK so it looks OK. You probably need a test to measure the reactivity of your inner ear structures as well as how your ear drum is functioning ("Tympanometry"). These help measure the pressures, etc inside that may be causing your symptoms. Go see an ENT doc or Audiologist. And take care if you fly or drive to altitude.
