Stress: Are you "stressed" the days you know you have to go to work? The gastointestinal tract is highly innervated and sensitive to "state of mind".  In other words, anxiety and /or stress can manifest with diarrhea.

Sounds like: severe debilitating problem.  Causes include infection,Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitits, or dietary intolerance.  You should see a doctor rather than trying to treat this on your own.

Diarrhea : There are many potential reasons for diarrhea in the mornings, ranging from infectious causes to irritable bowel syndrome. To sort it out requires a dr. visit and perhaps lab tests. However, before doing that, I would try increasing the amount of fiber in your diet and gradually starting a fiber supplement such as Metamucil each morning. If no better in 4-6 weeks, see your doctor. Good luck.

Diarrhea: Daytime diarrhea is usually functional, like irritible bowel
whereas diarrhea in the middle of the night sounds more like an infection.  5 days is pretty acute; we usually distinguish at 2 weeks.  Could be a stomach flu still or salmonella or campylobacter from some food you ate.

Further check-up: There could be many causes for this problem such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome, bacteria and viruses, substance abuse, stress, and reactions to medications. A more detailed history is needed and a stool culture  may be advisable. So I suggest a visit to a clinic or Family Doctor. In the meantime probiotics and being careful about irritant foods such as spicy foods, caffeine and alcohol may help.

It : It is not clear to me if this is a new or long-standing problem for you.  There is a reflex that can occur after we eat that causes defectation (bowel movement), this is called the gastrocolic reflex and occurs from when we get food in our stomach.  However, diarrhea every morning, especially if this is a change, should be evaluated.  You may need a gastroenterology evaluation or a colonoscopy if this is a bowel change.

If you had worsening diarrhea, vomiting, fever, bloody stools, or vomiting then you would have to be seen immediately.

Nonspecific: Your symptoms are nonspecific at this time and could be due to a viral,bacterial or parasitic infection, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, lactose or gluten intolerance to name some common causes. Avoid harsh roughage and take kaopectate (kaolin and pectin) for now. If symptoms persist your physician will take a history,examine you and order appropriate tests in order to diagnose and treat you.
