Your belly muscles: depending exactly where you're feeling the pulling, it could be your abdominal rectus muscle, or your old Pleak muscles. The obliques are more diagonal and located on either side, and the of Domino rectus is more centrally located in the middle of your belly on either side of your belly button.

Stepwise workup: Are you short of breath? Is your cough worse at night? Do you wake up coughing? Are you underweight? Do you have night sweats or excessive sweating? A chest Xray is cheap and should be the first step. An Office Spirometry similarly is an easy test to R/O Asthma or Chronic Bronchitis caused by smoking. Nocturnal Gatric Reflux is also a common and easily ruled out condition.

i had a mild cold about 2 weeks ago but am now stuck with a cough. its become hard to breath or laugh without a cough attack. go to dr. or ride it out?

Sinusitis/bronchitis: A "cold" that has not resolved in 7-10 days is likely a sinus infection. If you are having any lower respiratory symptoms - you may have pneumonia - you need to be seen by your primary care doctor - sounds like you may need a round of antibiotics.

These symptoms can be triggered by strong emotions (laughter, crying), colds, exercise, allergies, smoke, etc.  The diagnosis of asthma is made by lung function testing interpreted by a physician familiar with asthma and other respiratory diseases (allergist or pulmonologist).

: It is a common pain due to strained muscle around the shoulder blades. If the symptoms bother you too much, you can take tylenol or advil as needed every 6-8 hours for a day or two. The symptoms should ease in a couple days if you can rest those muscles.

Rib pain: Need to evaluated for trauma vs costochrondritis ( inflammation of cartilage of rib that can cause pain with cough breathing or laughing) vs infection , if really painful go to ER and be evaluated.
