It can be: It is difficult to answer this without seeing the MRI or at least knowing more about the MRI.  There are two main types of pictures taken in an MRI, they are labelled as "T1" and "T2" images.  Also, sometimes contrast (a compound injected intravenously for the MRI) is given.  A white area in the center of the discs on a T2 image is normally suggestive of healthy (well hydrated) discs and is normal

Multiple sclerosis: Many diseases can cause "white spots" to appear on the MRI imaging studies of the brain and spine.  Multiple sclerosis is one of the most common conditions.  Strokes, cancer, infection, and some other rare neurological disorders can also cause similar issues.  Sometimes further physical examination, blood work,  and a spinal fluid tap may be necessary to get a diagnosis.

i have white spots ( slight complexion discoloration) on either side of my spine.
the spots spread wider on the top of my back.
there is no pain or itchiness on my back.
should i be concerned?

This could be nothing important or a progressive skin condition that lasts a lifetime. I would have your doc evaluate it whenever you go in for any reason.

Yes: Ms medications reduce the chances of new relapses including new spots on MRI but they do not completely eliminate that possibility. There is a chance that spinal lesions will appear in the future even with meds but the meds will make that possibility much less. Hope this helps.

i have celiac. skin gets white spots that come and go, tingling in my feet hands forearms. some bad pain in spine,up to and into ears comes and go?

Follow diet: Celiac disease requires full adherence to the diet. This can be difficult. Failure to do so can lead to B12 deficiency.  Amongst other issues. I suggest you have your serum MMA checked (can detect early B12 deficiency) and consider reviewing your STRICT dietary  requirements with a dietician. Good luck...

Tinea corporis: This is typical for tinea corporis - a fungus - Usually responds nicely to antifungals - both oral and topical meds can work.
