That could be one sx: Mononucleosis presents with swollen tonsils that may have white to yellow exudates, skin rash, enlarged lymph nodes on the front ; back of your neck and enlarged spleen ;/or liver. Your white blood cell will be elevated. A monospot test will show - or + for mono ; antibody titers can distinguish btwn old vs new infection.

Conservative therapy: These may be viral sores. I suggest conservative therapy as follows: warm water gargles, Zinc lozenges ( Cold-Eze ) Advil (ibuprofen) as needed for pain and dark brown honey with mixed in tea or swallowed .

Don't pop them.: If you have a significantly sore throat w swollen tonsils / lymph nodes – see your medical provider & get a streph throat test & culture. Saltwater gargles are very helpful. Mix a teaspoon of salt in 8 oz of warm water – gargle with this several times a day. You can gargle with aloe vera juice a couple of times per day. A mixture of chamomile tea with honey & a small amount of lemon juice is good.

for the past 3 months i've had a metallic/bitter taste in my mouth, along with dry mouth and sores on the roof of my mouth and uvula. i don't take any medications, don't drink alcohol or caffeine, don't smoke anything, and am not overweight.

You need to start be seeing your own dentist in person for a complete and thorough medical and dental history, as well as a clinical examination. Herpes Simplex I: is the most common virus causing painful vesicular lesions in the mouth.  There are a number of other viruses which are less common along with autoimmune diseases such as Bechet's syndrome which is cell mediated and not an infectious issue.  A visit to your PCP and a viral culture of a new vesicle along with a serologic workup for immune mediated diseases would be helpful.

i have multiple canker sores in my mouth some on my front gum have left scars those are feeling better but i also have one on my uvula and on one of my tonsils i also have a sore throat and draining nose as well as inflamed tonsils?

: It's obvious that you're dealing with more than canker sores in view of the apparent tonsillitis. This requires a rapid throat culture to check for strep which,if present,requires oral antibiotics. It may all be a viral infection,though. I doubt infectious mononucleosis at this time.  See your physician and get tested. Treatment advice will also be given to relieve mouth sores and nasal congestion

Mouth sores: These are probably Apthous ulcers or canker sores which can be caused by reactions to certain foods or food additives, stress, hormonal factors, and can occur with inflammatory bowel diseases. If lesions persist consult an Otolaryngologist for diagnosis and treatment.

They can be spread to other areas of body or to other hosts(people). Other  viruses like HIV or aids can be spread by contact usually through open wounds.  Some sores like canker sores or lichen planis are due to auto-immune reactions, so they are not transmittable.

Not Sure: We know of several things that can cause canker sores(vitamin deficiency emotional stress, smoking, sls {sodium lauryl sulfate in most toothpastes},   as well as other illnesses(mostly autoimmune disorders).  They do not seem to be caused by bacteria or virus but can also be an allergy to a common bacterium has been reported. Tissue trauma also can be a cause.
