there is a tiny red ring around my iris and my eye burns and hurts. what could this be? i cant get into the eye doctor for a couple of days.

Possible Iritis: It is difficult to be certain without actually being able to examine your eye with a slit lamp, but what you are describing sounds like it might be iritis, which is inflammation of the iris and the adjacent structures.  This usually causes pain, light sensitivity and sometimes blurred vision.  I would contact your eye doctor again to see if you can get in sooner for evaluation and treatment.

i have brown eyes and i have gray blue green rings outside out the eye  twice change pure hazel and once blue then i notice golden dark brown greenish?

Sounds quite: lovely. Pigmentation changes. It isn't usually a sign of disease BUT if it were it would be a mineral pigment disease such as 
WILSON's DISEASE (copper, ring is copper colored)
or hemosiderosis (iron, ring is iron colored. but skin is steel colored... grey, more noticeable than eye).

i had a retina detachment surgery/scleral buckle 3 months ago. can i sparr in the ring with a head gear that protects me from direct blows to the eye?

No: A retinal detachment is an extremely dangerous event.  You could lose permanent vision in that eye.  It also means protecting vision in the other eye very very important.  An accidental blow to your head and eye could permanently leave you blind. No amount of head gear can protect you from that. Best wishes.

when i push down on my lacrimal lake and push it towards my eyeball i would see a white ring on the other side of my eye. it would get bigger the more i press  i dont see anything but i might have some sort of optic neuritis, pain in the eye is rare?

? Chronic infection : You do NOT describe optic neuritis.  But you might wonder about a sinus infection. Would see primary doctor, have her(him) look at this and go next step

my eyes have dark rings on under the eye as well as the eyelids. is this reason enough to go to the doctor?

Not necessarily: The discoloration may just reflect a slowing of blood flow in the rich capillary bed of these tissues. This can be  triggered by a reaction to airborne allergens that enter the eyes. If true your eyes may itch &amp; have clear drainage. If you otherwise  feel fine I don't consider this a sign of some worrisome illness. If you are worried about other issues schedule a visit.

have had ringing in my ears plus a constant headache for the last two week.when ringing is more intense on one side the eye on that side hurts to?

See an ent: You should have a hearing test and be evaluated  by an ent and possible neurologist. You may require further testing but a complete history is required

Usually: Different coloration patterns around one or both irises can mean different things. Always best to see your ophthalmologist or eye care specialist.
However, a common pattern called &quot;arcus&quot; is a white to gray and sometimes bluish ring at the edge of the cornea (in front of the iris) which represents lipid deposits. If new or changing, a good idea would be to check a lipid/cholesterol panel of labs.

are a few odd specks in the iris of the eye of any serious concern?

Iris: No, they should not cause concern, especially if there is no change in the specks over time.
If, however change in the "specks" is noted consult your ophthalmologist.

Spotty iris.....: Black dots on the iris are usually normal. Especially if they have been present and unchanging for years. If these spots enlarge or change, they may need to be more closely evaluated.

what could cause or be related to holes in the iris of the eye?

Accepted Answer

Need more info: I am not sure what "holes" you refer to. If you have in mind black "dots" occasionally seen in one's iris, those are benign lesions that just don't have a normal pigment accumulation. If you do have symptoms or those "holes" are just bothersome in appearance, it won't hurt to consult optometrist or ophthalmologist for an in-depth exam.
