i have developed few white patches on my skin recently. i visited a dermatologist and he said it was due to sun damage . suggest me good sunblock?

One that you use: The big issue with sunblocks is people don't use them on a regular basis. Every day when you wake up after your shower you should apply a moisturizing sunblock of 30 or higher. And keep it with you, use it every two hours while you're in the sun or if you sweat or swim. The best sunblock is dark clothes which obviously isn't always practical. Having a hat with you is vital.

can you truly reverse some sun damage to your skin? how? or it it just a temporary effect of the anti aging makeup used?

Use sunscreen  vit E: Please use sunscreen when exposed to sun, going forward. Vitamin e cream does help to heal skin, which turns over fairly quickly.  Vitamin a and d also help with skin and does come in cream form.  Sun damage usually causes dryness- so a good moisturizer is beneficial as well- such as eucerin cream.

Lentigines: A very effective treatment for lentigines is topical application of vitamin c. When vitamin c is used in combination with Alpha hydroxyacids, results are better.
Using Retin-A is another good treatment for lentigines. It is recommended to apply Retin-A cream for six months, once daily. It lightens the large spots and small spots disappear completely. Retin-a cream with Alpha hydroxyacids is better.

Yes.: Chemical peels are one option for reversing sun damage. There are others as well, such as laser dermabrasion, microdermabrasion, and various fractional laser treatments. See a dermatologist who does these kinds of cosmetic procedures. Keep in mind that insurance seldom if ever pays for treatments like these.

Not likely: Topical Isotretinoin is well known to cause photosensitivity (easy burning) from bright sun light exposure.  This will cause temporary redness and soreness, but not permanent change.  Interestingly, Isotretinoin and other so-called retinoid agents have been successfully used for years to actually help reverse chronic sun damage.
