Hard to know: Tinea versicolor is a fungal infection that appears as spots of various colors: from white to reddish brown to light tan.  These lesions can be more apparent after sun exposure because the surrounding skin becomes darker than the involved skin.  It is treated with otc anti-fungal agents with "azole" in the active ingredient name.  As this is just one possibility, confirming with Dermatologist.

Your age and sun exposure are important information to help your physician treat the area, or biopsy the area to get an accurate diagnosis, to help plan with treatment.

Ringworm: Most likely ringworm which is a fungal infection that can be treated with topical antifungal creams. There are other skin diseases which can mimic ringworm such as eczema and psoriasis. It should be seen by a dermatologist for diagnosis and treatment.
