Maybe, BUT: Check with your doctor asap.  

If s/he says you're ok, then consider the recurrent nature of this and what you are doing or eating that is a trigger.  Food allergy and food intolerance symptoms come in all shapes and sizes.  Everyone's different.  Try a serious elimination diet, add some probiotics (long term) and let your body guide you to foods you can tolerate well. You may feel lots better.

Many: This depends a great deal on the history of your symptoms, and family history and any other pertinent information during an interview.  There is the whisper test, the two word test, the finger rub test, The Weber and Rinne utilizing the tuning fork, The is the otoscopic exam, pneumatic otoscopy, tympanogram, and audiologic testing. This list is not complete, but just a start of the basics.

: Absolutely, I do otoplasty almost every week for patients with prominent ears, cupped ears, Spock ears and other ear shapes that are bothersome. Consult with a board certified Plastic Surgeon or Otolaryngologist who has experience. It is not the most common procedure, so be certain to find someone who does a lot of them.

Exploration, itch: Some kids do stuff the first time to explore how it feels, or get attention. Some because they feel an itch & think putting something there will change it. Most don't talk yet so they seldom tell us why, but it will happen in most. I encourage parents not to use q-tips on young kids or they might decide to put something in their ear like mommy does.

Yes: Although it is considered safe to have a baby's ears pierced i generally do not pierce infant ears. I usually wait until the child is old enough to ask for them. If your baby does have earrings i recommend taking them out at night (after the holes have healed) to reduce the risk of accidental swallowing/choking.

Eust. tube dysfxn: Any type of sounds in the ear can be generically labeled as tinnitus.  The "drumming"  could be you hearing your own heart beat.  You have several major blood vessels travel within millimeters of your ear and the eustachian tube can transmit this sound to your ear.  If this tube (connects the nose to the ear) is congested, you might have this problem.  Decongestants or nasal sprays may help.

Med EVAL: I do not know the cause of your symptoms but i would recommend prompt medical evaluation. The double vision and dizziness are of particular concern.

Vertigo: This could be a viral labyrinthitis, but could be an initial attack of Meniere's, or sinusitis.  Need to be wary of falling with additional trauma.  Contact your local doctor regarding next steps.  You might try ginger root 1000 mg capsules for some symptom relief in meantime.

Extra bone: This is extra bone growth (exostosis) in the canal from the cold water. Nobody understands why it happens. It's not an infection like swimmer's ear.
