Cough: is necessary attempt by the body to clear undesirable irritants. I do rarely recommend cough suppressants. I recommend expectorates. Many are available over the counter in any pharmacy in the US

Equate cough syrup is over the counter medication.  One of its active ingredient is dextromethorphan.  It doesn't contain codeine.

Not available: This cough medication from the 1930's contains; 1% alcohol, 1/5% benzyl alcohol, 1/2% chloroform, squills, ipecac, lobelia, wild cherry, blood root, herehound, white pine, tar, tolu, menthol, glycerine, and ammonium chloride. Source: actual product box from the 1930's the maryland pharmaceutical co. Baltimore, md.  (i can't confirm this but it is interesting---not sure i would ingest this!).

Need more info: It is not feasible to provide an opinion without knowing the contents of the syrup. You may be reacting to dextromethorphan, a usual content of cough syrups.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Yes: Diphenhydramine has not shown to have any problems in pregnancy provided recommended doses are taken.

No: Not really.  Guaifenesin syrup can loosen cervical mucous, but poor cervical mucous is usually from an ovulation problem or injury.  Best choice is to fix ovulation or pursue insemination.
