: The area should heal gradually. Do not put antiseptics on penis. Always use a cream or ointment.

i have been bitten quite badly by a cat on my hand. puncture wounds on both sides. have cleaned with dettol and put a dressing on but very painful and swelling. i am sure i had a tetanus injection in the past 10 years but not sure. what must i do?

Infection:  Go to ER. Cat bites can become badly infected which may lead to lose of function in the hand. The fact that it is swollen and painful suggests you have an infection. Please get seen at an Emergency Room. This could be serious.

: You did the right treatment and look at area every day and change dressing and solutions two to three times a week. If any changes see the surgeon right away.

This product: Is not recommended for use inside wounds as it has been shown to be toxic to healing cells. In other words, it can inhibit the healing process.

Wash-off first, then: Like most other cause of contact-allergies, avoidance is best treatment. If +contact, best is to wash-off as well as you can with warm water and soap. Then depending how severe, topicals such as calamide/cortisone can be used if skin is intact/or only minor abrasion. Oral benadryl/zyrtec help with itching. If more severe, you may need eval and prescriptions from your doc. Good luck.
