how accurate are early us? i measured 6w 1d on 8/22. how likely is it that the date of conception occured later then 7/24 (+/- the 7 days)?

Accurate in a range: Ultrasound pregnancy dating gives a date and a range. The date is an estimate. That means the date is not a single point in time. So, when an ultrasound scan gives a date of 7/24 as the estimated conception date, it actually means it is quite likely to have happened a little before 7/24 or a little after 7/24. This all means a person shouldn't think too much about exactness.

Too close to tell...: In theory, calculating date of conception is just pure math. However, there's a range of probable vs possible dates given lifespan of egg &amp; sperm. 2 calculators (http://goo.gl/ULNOoE &amp; http://goo.gl/YKIZjS) included both March 31st &amp; April 4th while 3rd (http://goo.gl/9pe8Oe) only included former. None of 3 stated that latter alone was date of conception w/o including former. Hope that makes sense

Sex for Conception: Conception calculators are all over the web and can be fun to play with. For this due date sex had to occur 8/16/2013 to 8/21/2013.

No way to know: Either date could just as easily have been the one. You can ask your doctor about paternity testing, which can even be done prenatally.

Too close to call: Depending on how regular or irregular your periods were, it could be either one. Getting a paternity test on the newborn would be the only way to know for sure.

Possible, yes . . .: Certainly it is possible, but not likely. Since we observe food cravings but can't really define cause scientifically, we tend to attributed it to hormonal changes or even fetal needs. More likely to see cravings later in pregnancy.

All bets off: The only way you will find out who is the father is to have dna testing. And I am sure it will be mandated by your local da or the attorney of whoever you are trying to tag with paternity.

Very: With an ultrasound date of March 6 for conception, you could have gotten pregnant from sex any time from Feb. 20 to to Feb. 24 .  Since the early stages of pregnancy are quite orderly &amp; predictable, six week ultrasounds are remarkably accurate in estimating the date of conception.
