As above: There is some kind of a skin mass there so you need the surgeon to have it evaluated and removed. Then it will be sent to pathology for identification

: If your right hip and/ or groin are still painful, have you had a recent X-Ray done? If so &amp; if it was negative, perhaps a bone scan can be done to look for loosening of the implant. The orthopedic surgeon can advise you best or you may want a second opinion.

Takes time: Tearing tissues involves bleeding and damage to surrounding tissues from swelling and the influx of inflammatory cells.   This may take weeks to months to fully resolve.  Be patient and be careful.

Physiatrist: I would recommend seeing a physiatrist. These are doctors of physical therapy. I would also consult your surgeon and possibly get a second opinion.

Yes and other causes: As any gas in the soft tissues is abnormal, this should represent infection unless there is another explanation (very unusual).  Causes in this area would include: diverticulitis, appendicitis, rectal perforation from trauma, inflammation or cancer, urologic infections, or generalized soft tissue infections of the perineum (Fournier's gangrene) in susceptible individuals.
