Depends: If an ovarian cyst gets large enough or puts enough pressure on structures then pt may present with lower abdominal pain on the side of the cyst.  If the cyst is large enough to cause torsion (twisting of the blood vessels feeding the ovary) that may lead to more severe pain and vomiting.  Torsion is a surgical emergency because it may lead to the death of the ovary.

Ovarian cyst: The cyst should be followed. If it does not go away or gets larger, it could be removed depending on its size.

Pelvic pain: Pelvic pain is complex as there are several organs in the pelvis. The ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, cervix, bladder, appendix, intestines, colon and rectum can all be the source. Pelvic pain requires and examination to help organize the evaluation. Pelvic pain due to eating may not be from a  gynecologic cause

i think i have an ovarian cyst on left side. it hurts when i lay and get up. but i don't have any other symptoms.  it's this constant pain.

Please see your gyn: Asap, as a pelvic ultrasound needs to be done to see if u do have a cyst, a fibroid, or other conditions, and your gyn should be able to determine if your pain is from a gyn cause or other causes, u may need referral after that.

does tubal test hurt? i am a virgin. i have an ovarian cyst so i will be undergoing laparoscopic procedure. they will also do the tubal test..

Tubal Test?: I believe  you are referring a test to see if your fallopian tubes are patent ( chromopertubation). If done during the laparoscopy you will be under anesthesia and you wont feel it. Obviously you will have some pain from the surgery.
Are you trying to get pregnant? Dont see the need for it unless you have problems conceiving.

See MD if symptoms: The presence, absence, or size of an ovarian cyst may be unrelated to pelvic pain,  It is best to see your Clinician if symptoms persist.

i have an ovarian cyst on my left ovary and measures 7cm x 7cm. i have been in varying amounts of pain plus i have other health issues. i am waiting for a date for a full hysterectomy but it now hurts so bad some days - should i go to a & e?

: An ovarian cyst of the dimensions described may cause severe pain, especially if torsion (twisting, which cuts off blood supply) occurs.  There are other causes for one sided abdominal pain, but go to an ER for evaluation, b/c torsion of an ovary needs immediate attention.

Not usual: Ovarian cysts form every month in healthy young women. Normal ovaries may be filled with small cysts (known as functional cysts).  Once in a while, a cyst will become large and may cause pain due to pressure on surrounding tissues. Ovarian cysts generally resolve on their own in 3-4 weeks, but an enlarged cyst can rupture causing significant pain. Try Naprosyn (naproxen) 500 mg up to 3x/day.

Many options: There are multiple options. Hormonal treatments such as birth control pills, Progesterone treatments and the Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud are effective reversible treatments that will help many people. There is also a drug called Lysteda that contains no hormones which will help others. Consider seeing an Obgyn for an evaluation of painful periods

Pain: If you are experiencing pain go an see your doctor they can examine you and possibly order an ultrasound to evaluate for cysts if needed... They can also order a blood pregnancy test to put your mind at ease.
