every morning, just after breakfast, i take 1500 mg of glucosamine (pills form). my habit since i was kid is to go to the bathroom (to move my bowels) 30 mins after breakfast. if i do so glucosamine is ejected from my body and is it not effective?

During this time, most of the nutrients and active components are absorbed through the stomach &amp; lining of the intestine and into the bloodstream. Only the byproducts and waste products are expelled in the BM/urine. Glucosamine taken in the morning will not be expelled 30 minutes later.

whenever i smoke meth my body produce a yellowish orangey slimy mucous in my rectal area/discharge. i will, at times, feel the need to pass bowels but will experience straining/difficulty only passing mucous?

Yes: Ibd is felt to be an autoimmune illness and as such has wide ranging effects on the body.  Patients can develop biliary cirrhosis due to involvement of the bile ducts, uveitis, pyoderma gangrenosum as some of the possible effects of the disease in other parts of the body.

No: Bowel obstruction can cause abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, constipation and inability to pass gas.

?question: Not sure what you mean?  If your pregnant and have a BM, the baby inside is fine.  If a Baby has a BM, they are probably happy to evacuate their bowels.

Usually pain : The problems you list often cause abdominal discomfort and a change of bowel function. Usually loose stools, but it could be constipation, or it could swing back and forth between constipation and diarrhea.

what would experts say? could a full body ultrasound scan show previously undiagnosed bowel cancer?

Accepted Answer

No: Ultrasound is not a good way to look at the bowel/intestines.  There is a lot of artifact from the gas within the bowel that makes things inside the bowel difficult to see.  A test for blood in the stool and/or colonoscopy would be better.  Sometimes a ct scan or upper GI or barium enema can also help.
