Not unless diarrhea: Normal pooping lets only the "formed" poop come out. The loose poop needs to stay in the body a little longer, to dry out a bit more, and then come out with the next pooping. However, if a person has watery diarrhea, then all his poop likely will come out.

Pushing: stool out through bearing down can be normal. However if you have to strain excessively that can be another issue.  If stool is dry and hard consider increasing fiber in diet and drinking lots of water.

Poop is normally the undigestible material left over after food and drink are thoroughly digested, mixed with billions of large bowel bacteria that live within us.

Depends: It can be normal to only defecate once a week, however this is very uncommon.  The normal human tends to stool about one to two times per day.  See your doctor for an evaluation if you are concerned or if your weekly stool habits cause symptoms such as nausea, vomiting or abdominal pain.

If only occasionally: If poop comes out like a string only occasionally, that is less worrisome, and may just be the consistency (hardness; water content) of the poop and the amount of relaxation of the anus (tight anus causes smaller diameter poop, if soft poop), at the moment of the bowel movement. But, if string-like poop happens often, one has to make sure there is not a cancer or blockage in the anus or rectum.

Small balls of feces: Usually hard &amp; due slow passage of waste products thru colon (large bowel) and most of fluid has been absorbed from poop. May be related to either diet, inadequate fluid intake or combination of both. Advise eat lots of high fiber containing food, fruit &amp; vegetables, drink lots of water &amp; try prune juice. Polyethylene glycol in beverage works "naturally" &amp; softens stool by increasing water in poop

You are likely: Constipated.  Stay well hydrated (at least 8 - 8 ounces glasses of water per day). Try to get in 5 servings of vegetables and 4 servings of fruit per day – get that fiber in. Stay physically active if possible.  There are a number of over the counter laxatives that can be taken orally to help pass retained fecal matter.  Get eval for bleeding.
