Anytime: It is safe to take probiotics at any time while taking antibiotics as there is some evidence it may help with antibiotic associated diarrhea. Most throat infections should not be treated with antibiotics unless your strep was positive. I would check with your doctor as an antibiotic is more likely to just cause a yeast infection...

Most people: I am an advocate of probiotics.  The gut lining has a difficult time maintaining the balance of healthy bacteria with stress, disease, poor sleep, poor nutrition, antibiotic or medication use. Recent studies have shown benefits even pregnant patients. Probiotics can help with immune function, regulate constipation/diarrhea, bloating, help with GI diseases and even skin conditions.

However, there are many supplements and dietary products out there so be careful.  In addition, you may have certain medical/dietary concerns unaccounted for.  My recommendation is to discuss your probiotics with your PCP and/or a registered dietitian/nutritionist to confirm.
