Musculoskeletal....: The discomfort you describe is likely musculoskeletal pain. The chest wall has bones, muscles, cartilage all of which is subject to muscle strain/sprain, cartilage inflammation and even rib bruise or fracture from excessive coughing. Once the cough is controlled, the musculoskeletal disorder(s) will also be controlled. So, see your doctor for diagnosis/treatment of the cough.

Still have appendix?: Your symptoms can come from a multitude of things ! a little more info may help - how long has it been there? Any fever or pain with urination or stooling ? Any testicular swelling or pain? Any history of trauma? These things are "need to know" for a better answer!

Rib fracture ?: It is possible to break a rib or dislocate one while coughing; the other possibility (collapsed lung)  would have you so sick that you would not be sending inquiries online.  See your doc and get some local pain control (lidoderm patches, etc) so you can breath.

Muscle Strain: If you are an active swimmer, you may have a mild muscle strain resulting in your discomfort. In the absence of any shortness of breath or radiation of your pain to the jaw or left arm, taking a few days off from the aggravating routine, increasing hydration with water and a trial of NSAIDs may help.

Cough and pain: Sometimes persistent cough can cause a small rib muscle strain or inflammation of connective tissue.  If no contraindications, treatment is nsaids.  Make sure the chronic cough is evaluated too!

Right sided pain: Right sided pain radiating to the back can be muscular, or caused by gall bladder or kidney problems like stones depending on whether the discomfort is high,low or middle. Your problem sounds more musculoskeletal and may be affected by back motions as well as coughing. If warm or cold packs and,if you can take them,nsaids like Advil (ibuprofen) don't help, see your physician for diagnosis and treatment.

Cough headaches: are well known. Most of them are harmless. The actual cause is not well-established but may relate to pressure exerted in and around blood vessels in the area of the pain/scalp muscles. They usually spontaneously improve over time. Cough headaches which are longer lasting or associated with unsteadiness or dizziness could be related to a defect in the cerebellum and need prompt evaluation.

Pain with cough: The fact that the pain increases when you cough is concerning. Are you pregnant? Could you have an ectopic pregnancy? Have you had any blood through vagina? You need to get checked out asap, a local emerg would be great.
