can i go back to work and fly on a plane after a tooth extraction?

Tooth extraction: You can return to work soon after an extraction.  You should avoid heavy lifting and bending for at least 24 hours. Follow the post op instructions that your dentist gave you.  There are few restrictions following a simple extraction and more following a surgical extraction.  The dentist that did your extraction is the best to answer this for your individual case.  Call and ask about this.

when could i go back to work after my full wisdom teeth extraction?

Accepted Answer

Depends: Some go back to work the same day.  Usually it would be prudent to be off at least a day for this surgery.  It would also depend whether you had your surgery with a local anesthetic or got a a general anesthetic or conscious sedation.  I would not push it and take care of yourself.  Your dentist or oral surgeon should explain this to you carefully prior to the surgery.  Discuss with your boss 1st!

day 5 post tooth extraction. pain is actually worse today. could it be a dry socket? or just because i went back to work today (higher stress levels)?

  Contact dentist who preformed extraction and arrange appointment for dry socket treatment ASAP.

Yes: Sitting for a long time in the dental chair. Other than that, the extraction should not be causing any back pain, the roots of your teeth are just not that long..

had back molar extracted 5 days ago. have food stuck in there since extraction. tried salt water rinses how do i get the food out?

Difficult: You could try a gentle gargle .  Failing that your doctor or dentist might have some saline in a squeezable plastic bottle or be able to gently irrigate slowly via a syringe to try and remove the debris.

hi i work as a replenishment assitant lifting heavy boxes, moving boxes and replacing stock as different levels how long after a tooth extraction would i be ok to return to work thankyou ?

Varies: Really depends on the difficulty of the extraction, if surgery is required, and if you are on narcotic pain meds afterwards. There is no one specific number to fit all scenarios. If on narcotics, you may be dizzy and more prone to losing your balance while lifting, possibly causing harm to yourself or others. Discuss with your surgeon after the procedure.

is it normal for the teeth adjacent to the extraction site to feel sensitive after extraction? mine has been 11 post op but the adjacent teeth still feels sensitive. when will they get back to normal?

Accepted Answer

: After tooth removal the bone supporting a tooth receeds and this affects the teeth on either side, causing them to be more sensitive than hey were. Give it time to heal and adjust.

lip numbness from bad hurting tooth. will i get feeling back after extraction or will it take time. if feels tingly at times?

Tingling: May take some time, even months. Occassionally it does not go away

i'm 9 days post extraction of my first molar on left. i am struggling to gauge when to get back to my normal routine as answers vary so much even from my own dentist. when is it safe to drink with a straw? chew on the surgical site? use my cbd vape?

Accepted Answer

: At 9 days post surgical, chance of dry socket is minimal. Just to be prudent, stay off the straw for 2 full weeks. Same for chewing on surgical site, let it heal without traumatic insult. As to vaping, it desiccates tissues. In other words it harms all oral soft tissues, not just the ones that are healing.  You are 9 days into a healthier life style. Don't throw it away.

i am a teacher.after a tooth extraction, how many hours should i rest before i can get back to teaching with regular lecturing,talking,&eat/drinking?

Accepted Answer

Post op: Generally speaking, you can resume normal activities as soon as the numbness has worn off and the bleeding has stopped as long as you fell up to it.  Your own dentist is the best one to discuss this further with you.
